About the Artist
Nat is a neurodivergent creator from Canberra who founded Zosimos Curra™, driven by a passion to harness the power of creativity and inspire positive change. With a deep love for design, storytelling, and music, Nat creates stories that resonate with young minds, promoting inclusivity, empathy, and kindness.
Their debut project, the Magbean!™ children’s book series, is designed to celebrate diversity, inclusion, acceptance, and compassion. Each page invites children to embrace their individuality while encouraging empathy and understanding for others.
As both the author and illustrator of the Magbean!™ series, Nat has fully developed the first book and completed the writing for all ten. Their artistic vision and dedication to inclusive storytelling shine through in every detail. The series is a reflection of Nat’s personal journey and their desire to make a meaningful impact on the world.

Growing up as an autistic individual, Nat faced significant challenges with social interactions, communication, and sensory processing. These experiences, along with the impact of bullying, left deep emotional scars. Rather than letting those struggles define them, Nat chose to channel that pain into something powerful. The Magbean!™ series was born from a desire to share their story, connect with others, and create a safe, uplifting space where children feel seen, supported, and valued.
Through Magbean!™, Nat hopes to inspire young readers to celebrate their differences, embrace kindness, and discover the beauty in diversity. Their creative journey is more than just storytelling, it’s about giving voice to those who may feel overlooked and reminding every child that they are worthy of love and acceptance.

Meet the mascot .... Zosimos Curra

Zosimos is based on myself.
Some of my physical traits shine through in his design, his chin slanting slightly back from the front of his face is one clear example. He was originally created as a persona, but over time, he became something more.
Zosimos is the mascot of Zosimos Curra, in fact, the business was named after him, not the other way around. He mainly represents a perentie monitor lizard, Australia’s largest lizard, but also shares a bloodline with foxes.

He dyes his hair green for no other reason than it being my favourite colour. It’s been a key part of his design since the very first drawing. The star on his pockets has also been there from the start, a detail my edgy teenage self was a little obsessed with. His shoes are simplified combat boots, another phase I went through and still love.
The name Zosimos is Greek for “survivor,” which reflects the challenges I’ve faced and the fact I’m still here.
The name Curra may not be completely original, but it felt like it. My version (pronounced “kurr-ah,” not “coo-rah”) came from the first five letters of Currawong, a bird native to Australia, where I live.
Zosimos’s name has never changed, but he’s not the first to carry the Curra surname. That began with a currawong named Atalo, who may just make an appearance in the future ..... Nat.
The “O’s” in the logo are inspired by Australian Aboriginal art, representing waterholes, a symbol deeply connected to the land and culture of Australia, Nat's home country. Below, the word “CURRA” features symbols of a boomerang and a person, paying homage to Nat's Australian roots.
The leaves and the “I” are influenced by Greek Art. The “I” is designed to resemble a Doric column, while the leaves evoke an olive wreath crown. These elements reflect Nat’s Greek heritage.

Story Behind the Logo
Originally a stylistic choice, the olive wreath now holds deeper significance. It represents bravery and protectiveness—qualities that Magbean learns to embrace throughout the series. This wreath symbolically surrounds Magbean in the logo, reflecting his growth.
Magbean in the logo is also a stylistic choice, as the first creation released from Zosimos Curra is the Magbean! book series. The recurring image of Magbean atop the “I” has been present in earlier logo designs.
The primary colours, green and red, represent Zosimos Curra’s mascot, while the secondary colours, blue and yellow, reflect the vibrant world of Magbean!.
